Community
I’ve worked on many participatory arts projects in community and educational settings, facilitating workshops with adults, young people and children. My artforms include murals, drawing, painting, collage, model-making, photography, graphics and set design. Projects are long or short-term, and tailored to suit the group and context. Whatever the project, art can be used to explore an issue, to decorate a space, and most importantly, to encourage and develop people’s own creativity.

Heart of England Mencap, Warwick
Book Project
'Our Life, Our Choice' book - an anthology of writing and artwork created with a group of adults who have learning disabilities. The book explores issues including respect, rights, and friendship, as well as ordinary thoughts on everyday life. It aims to help normalise disability amongst the wider community, by making the lives of people with disabilities more visible. I facilitated the sessions in which the work was created, and I compiled, edited, and designed the book, which incorporates stories, illustrations, poems, drawings and comics.

The panels are on display in Mencap’s walled garden on the Alscot Estate, Warwickshire, and are designed to accompany planting and sensory development of the outdoor area for customers’ use.
